Hi There, welcome to Hyte CrossFit!

We are Mari and Ricky, owners of the gym and we’d love for you to know about us!

We’re husband and wife, originally from Venezuela, we are 30 years old, and came to the United States in 2018 escaping the dictatorship and the political chaos in our country. We moved with a suitcase and lots of dreams, our biggest dream is this gym, we purchased Hyte in December 2021 after years of hard work, determination and yes, lots of more dreaming and praying! So when you walk into the gym that’s what we want to share with you. At Hyte you’ll find a community of amazing hardworking people from all backgrounds, we welcome all! Our passion for health and fitness goes back to our beginnings in 2014 for Ricky and later 2017 for Mari.

We believe that anyone, no matter the age, background or fitness abilities is capable of bettering themselves for a lifetime, this is not just a gym, is a Family, and we can’t wait to meet you, welcome you and help you achieve your goals!

My Name is Ricky Belen, Co-owner of Hyte CrossFit. I’m 30 Years old. I been always passionate about sports but never the strong kid, always getting injured, when I found CrossFit in 2014 I realize by working out the proper way I was going to become the best version of myself; adding to that, something that shock me it was the level of support and impact that the CrossFit community can do on you, helping you to be better every day.
That start the fire inside of me on becoming a coach and help others as CrossFit helped me.
As I was getting my Bachelors degree in Business Administration, I did the CrossFit L1 Trainer Certification with the idea of blending my two professions becoming a gym owner in the future.
I stopped coaching when I moved in to US in 2018 because of the language barrier, that gave me the motivation to learn the language and finally started coaching again in 2020, a year later me and my wife became Affiliate Owners with Hyte CrossFit.

Now I can deliver this beautiful methodology to a lot of people and I have my dream job!

My Name is Mari Monsalve, and I’m co-owner of Hyte CrossFit!
Throughout my youth I was not really disciplined in a sport, always trying to do something new as I easily got bored.
When I was 19 years old, I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease, and was living in a lot of pain, that led me to research alternatives to live with that condition and that’s how I came across with CrossFit.
CrossFit is not only an exercise, it is also a lifestyle, thru nutrition and movement I have been able to live with a lot less pain, more energy and I can say I took control of my health.
What kept me coming back to the gym was 1. the community, always keeping me accountable, 2. the coaching, always making sure I was moving right and the best part is that I did not have to think about creating a workout or anything, everything was ready for me every time I walked in the door.

Now I can say I found my call in life, that is to help people take control of their health, I married my husband Ricky (we met at CrossFit) and I get to do it surrounded by the best community there is!

My name is Miguel, I started CrossFit in 2020 after playing soccer all of my life. I quickly fell In love with the community, the training methodology the movements and what CrossFit stands for, constantly varied functional movements performed at high intensity.

Through my coaching career at Hyte CrossFit I find joy in coaching the open athlete who aims for a healthy lifestyle to the competing athlete. I enjoy competing locally and empowering the community besides him. l’m currently studying health sciences to become a PA to reach past the CrossFit community and make a health impact in the community.

My name is Sebastian, I’m originally from Venezuela, I spent my younger years playing professional soccer as a forward player for Deportivo Tachira. I moved to the United States looking to grow and reach excellence. I Started CrossFit in 2022 and quickly found a passion for the sport that encouraged me to learn more to help others, I love coaching because I believe that every person has the chance to improve their lives in the way that CrossFit helped me when I started. I want to keep learning from different courses experiences and people. Always grateful with Hyte for being my home and for the amazing people that creates this beautiful community called CrossFit!!

My name is Joe and I have been doing CrossFit for 8 years and coaching for 5 years. My initial interest originated from the competitive nature that accompanies CrossFit. However, my decision to become a coach came from the desire to help people tap into the potential they were unaware they had. In my time of coaching I have acquired my L2 and CF-OL1 to aid me in furthering my knowledge of this methodology that has been able to provide me and others with a fitter and healthier lifestyle.

My name is Patrick and I bring a dynamic background in sports and fitness. With a collegiate rugby career and extensive strength training, my journey in the fitness industry began after earning my certification from the ISSA as a personal trainer, solidifying my commitment to guiding others towards their health goals.

Since 2013, I have been coaching CrossFit, helping others discover the transformative power of functional fitness. Beyond the barbells and kettlebells, I have a genuine enthusiasm for empowering individuals to embrace longevity and wellness. My coaching style encompasses a blend of my athletic experience and extensive knowledge, while creating a fun environment. My mission is to not only elevate your athletic performance but also to enrich your overall quality of life through the pursuit of a healthier, more balanced lifestyle.

Hello! My name is Ashley and welcome to Hyte! I’m originally from England and enjoy living a very active lifestyle and have a variety of hobbies and interests, but CrossFit and fitness are my largest passions. I’m a firm believer of self-growth and bettering ourselves, and CrossFit offers limitless opportunities while building functional fitness to last a lifetime. I believe fitness is for everyone regardless of background or ability, and I enjoy helping others to unlock their own potential while having fun with such a great community!

I’m passionate about coaching because I find helping others to achieve their goals so rewarding! I believe in constantly bettering ourselves, and love the unique opportunity that coaching and training allows in being part of others’ life journeys. I believe every one of us can be successful in anything we set out to do and I hope I can be a part of that process for you!

Favorite workout? Barbell cycling…specifically power cleans.

I’m originally from Augusta, GA. I was active throughout my youth playing baseball, swimming, football and running track. Met my wife on the late teenage years and moved to Florida in 2015. I work as a Firefighter/ Paramedic. Began CrossFit when I turned 30 in 2018, and Became a Level 1 Trainer a year after that. Recently became a father in the Spring of 2023. I enjoy seeing and helping Hyte’s Athletes pushing themselves to new fitness levels and goals that maybe they didn’t think possible. I also view CrossFit as my avenue to stay healthy, enabling me to live a thriving life with my family!

Favorite William’s favorite workout is Chad (1000 Step ups for time) because it is a mentally challenging workout!

Growing up I always played sports from gymnastics in my youth to volleyball and lacrosse in college. Going to the gym was something I never stuck with long term. I tried just about everything and in my senior year of college when my sports seasons were over I decided to give CrossFit a try. Long story short, I fell in love with the sport. I loved the competitiveness of it which replaced no longer playing sports, but it was the community and accountability that kept me coming everyday. The CrossFit community is unlike any other and I knew I wanted to be able to help others achieve the goals they had for themselves by coaching. Seeing someone hit a PR or learn a new skill is so rewarding and I love that I get to help with that.

As a former college athlete who left the game early due to injuries, I always knew that I needed to replace that competitive edge with something else. I started CrossFit in 2015 to pursue a healthier lifestyle. It didn’t take long to see what an amazing community came with CrossFit and I was immediately hooked. In 2017 I began coaching because I wanted to help people change their life and strive to become healthier. Having the competitive aspect always drove me simply because it allows me to push myself more knowing everyone in class next to me is doing the same. Because of CrossFit, I have found life-long friends, a love for health and wellness, and a passion to help others live a healthier, happier life.

Joel Germain

My name is Joel, originally from Michigan, I have 12 years of dedicated CrossFit coaching experience with an obvious passion for coaching, competing and studying CrossFit.

My journey in CrossFit has led me to a Level 2 CrossFit certification and have been further enriched by multiple weightlifting and gymnastics certifications through the years.

I believe the 4-5 hours a week that I dedicate to CrossFit goes far beyond physical improvement. I believe CrossFit gives me invaluable life skills that I apply daily to my roles as husband, father, and friend.
